Since 1992, Actors’ Repertory Theatre of Simi (ARTS) has earned a reputation for excellence in live theater, and in 2001 received a commendation from the City of Simi Valley for their contribution to the community. Recognizing the importance of arts education, ARTS’ mission has always been to further develop and increase the impact of the arts on youth as well as adults looking to further their theatrical training and unique expression.
Through the generosity of the Simi Valley School District, ARTS Performance Academy has secured a 3,000 square foot building for a modest annual fee. We have entered into a capital campaign, with the goal of raising enough money to retrofit the proposed 3-classroom facility, creating a safe and effective learning environment geared toward the theatrical arts. We hope to open APA in June, 2012 with our 20th annual Jack Oakie/ARTS Summer Musical Theater Workshop for Kids, followed by year-round acting, dance and voice classes for ages 4 through adult, taught by professionals in their fields. Though most classes are tuition-based, no child will be turned away for inability to pay.
