Actors' Repertory Theatre of Simi will be opening their musical production of Disney's The Little Mermaid at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 8:00pm. The Little Mermaid, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s famous and timeless tale, directed by Disney producer, David Daniels, with choreography by Becky Castells and costume design by Lori Lee Gordon, is a family musical that features classic songs: “Part of Your World,” “Kiss the Girl,” and the Academy Award-winning “Under the Sea.” The musical score, performed by a live orchestra under the baton of Matt Park, is composed by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, as well as new songs by Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater. The book for the musical is by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright Doug Wright. The Little Mermaid performs weekends through April 2 with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm and Sunday matinee at 2pm.
